Company Description: SuperGifts.com is the e-commerce subsidiary of SuperGroups.com, an Albuquerque-based provider of group Web sites. SuperGifts.com sells a variety of products from multiple vendors, and is tightly integrated with a number of different SuperGroups.com sitesall with different audiences and demographics.
Role/Projects: I worked with SuperGifts.com on a freelance, off-site basis as a copywriter and usability consultant. SuperGifts.com needed a quick way to reach and appeal to all of these different audiences. At the same time, it needed a cleaner and easier-to-use interfacewith content that would not only facilitate shopping at SuperGifts.com, but would also promote memberships in the other SuperGroups.com Web sites.
The Results: Working with an internal project team, I wrote and helped architect an easier shopping/browsing method, letting users access stores directly from the SuperGifts.com home page navigation bar (previously, a user needed to drill-down after reading lots of marketing speak). I also helped better integrate SuperGifts.com with the other SuperGroups.com Web sites, writing and architecting a "bridge" page that shows the benefits of being a SuperGroups.com memberand advising on different ways to promote the SuperGifts.com brand on the individual SuperGroups.com Web sites (through link placement and email newsletter tie-ins).
The Links:
- SuperGifts.com home page: I organized, wrote, and helped design the left-hand navigation bar.
- WishList bridge page: I wrote and helped design this page, which promotes the SuperGroups.com WishLista great way to tie in the other SuperGroups.com Web sites.
