full-screen direct or side view without changing tips
Highly accurate 6mm and 8mm stereo measuring with
special tip adapters.
- Reliable "point-and-shoot" stereo measurement
- Requires no calibrating or aligning with shadows
- Stereo measurement provides highly accurate
dimensions by simply marking points on the screen
- Store, transfer images to a PC, and share
information over e-mail via the DSM (Digital Store and
Measure System)
- Retrieves archived images and performs
measurements point-to-point; line-to-point and
plane-to-point, for measuring depth and height
- Freeze-frame, live zoom with pan and enhance
Designed for ease of use and versatility-inspections
are faster with better control.
- Records audio clips with a built-in microphone

bending angle for scans in any direction with
sensitive, pinpoint fingertip control-precisely point
the tip with no overshoot
- Tight bending radius
- Unique Tapered Flex™ design combines strength and
flexibility for difficult-to-reach inspection
sites-offering both the flexibility to bend around
difficult areas but the firmness to be forced through
without bunching up when pressure is applied during
insertion

light enough to avoid operator fatigue
IV-6A CCU
The IV-6A is a precise CCU for Series 6 and Series 5
videoscopes (when used with optional adapter) and the
OTC-6 video camera attached to fiberscopes and
borescopes. It features simple, push-button controls for
live pan and zoom, brightness, freeze and store, plus a
full range of image-management functions.
The IV-6A lets you measure defects with 6mm and 8mm
stereo measurement tip adapters; record and playback
audio annotations; and enhance, archive, compare,
transmit and diagnose images. More accurate inspections
can result in more efficient, cost-effective
maintenance, quality control, defect analysis, and trend
evaluation.
Accessories Working Tools Olympus offers a variety
of working tools (compatible with interior or exterior
working channels) that fit fiberscopes and videoscopes
up to 25 feet long. Each tool is secured to the end of a
flexible steel cable designed to resist kinking or
twisting. The range of tools includes snares, magnets,
alligator jaws, wire baskets, and forceps.
Mobile Video Workstation Compact, rugged
design saves you time—roll your remote visual inspection
(RVI) equipment right up to the inspection site already
connected and ready to work. Model MVW-2 has a swivel
bracket for a TV monitor. Model MVW-2A supports the
Digital Store and Measure System and all viewing and
conversion adapters.
Turbine Kits Olympus has designed
borescopic inspection kits for turbine engines and other
applications. Kit components (borescope, fiberscope or
videoscope, guide tube, light source, etc.) are selected
or engineered for a specific engine.
Portable Video Monitors Compact LCD
monitors with 4, 5, 6.4 and 10.4-inch screens (LCD head
mount display offers one of the lightest, most compact
video monitors available). CRT monitors in screen sizes
from 8 to 20-inches (diagonal).
- LCD Head Mount Display: Provides incredible
freedom of movement and is one of the lightest and
most compact video monitors available—it can be worn
over a pair of eyeglasses. This configuration allows
the inspector to see his surroundings with hands-free
operation.
- OVD-1 LCD Screen: A 10.4-inch diagonal LCD
screen shows tiny details to speed inspections. The
OVD-1 provides a large video display area, yet it is
lightweight and easy to carry. The larger images allow
you to see small details on the screen and complete
inspections faster with less fatigue.
- OVD-2 LCD Monitor: The portable,
lightweight OVD-2 monitor features a large 6-inch
diagonal display area. It can be mounted on the
retractable arm in the system case and is engineered
for high-speed response, high luminance and low
reflection. The OVD-2 is also compatible with NTSC and
features independent controls for brightness, hue,
color and contrast.
- OVD-2B LCD Monitor: This version of the
OVD-2 can be mounted on the Series 6 Videoscopes,
attached to the retractable arm in the ILV-C1 system
case, or positioned on a tripod near the work site. It
also has identical features to the OVD-2 above.
- OVD-3 LCD Monitor: High resolution 6.4-inch
LCD for optimum imaging on a portable display.
Compatible with all Videoscopes, Fiberscopes, and
borescopes.
Extension Cable Kits Cable kits allow the
scope to be used at distances away from the light source
and CCU. They’re especially useful in areas that require
the inspector to climb ladders or walk along narrow
catwalks.
Peripherals
Olympus
Industrial Light Sources are lightweight,
portable and compact, providing the right illumination
for a wide range of inspections.
Digital
Store and Measure System (DSM) adds
sophisticated computer technology to any Remote Visual
Inspection system.
Guide Tubes Olympus guide tubes make insertion
of flexible fiberscopes possible in difficult places
(where there are obstructions or large gaps). A metal or
plastic guide tube can be shaped to conform to the
desired path and then put in place in the engine. The
fiberscope can then be inserted in the tube and guided
to position.
Pre-formed plastic tubes provide added protection for
the insertion tube and increased stiffness for large
pipe insertion. They are inserted with a straightening
rod in place in the tube. When the rod is removed, the
tube reverts to its pre-formed shape.
Articulating guide tubes have four-way tip
articulation for added maneuverability. The patented
model MD-999 is specifically designed for JT8D combustor
inspection.
- MH-904 GT/IV6C6-75: For the IV6C6-75 scope.
Maximum outer diameter: 9.9mm (0.389 in.). Working
length: 7345mm (289 inches)—allows normal scope
articulation. Tapered Flex. High-visibility orange
color.
- MH-905 GT/IV6C5-110: For the IV6C5-110
scope. Stores on scope drum. Working length 10845mm
(427 inches).
- MH-906 GT/IV6C5-160: For the IV6C5-160
scope. Stores on scope drum. Working length: 15845mm
(623.8 inches).
- 4-Way G/T with articulation: For the
IV6C5-20 scope. Stainless steel outerbraid.
Articulation: 90° directional (up, down, right, left).
Diameter: 12mm (0.475 inches). Working length: 67 in.
- 4-Way G/T: For the IV6C5-35 scope. Same as
above except: Working length: 127 inches
Flexible image carriers Magnify an image on
a video screen as much as 150x with these carriers,
making them highly useful in production line inspection.
Flexible and easy to maneuver, they can even follow an
object in motion. Image carriers have no light-guide
bundles and utilize ambient light for illumination.
OVB Blade Blending Kit This Pratt &
Whitney-approved (PWA 101045, PWA 101219) kit allows you
to locate and repair foreign object damage to compressor
blades without costly engine teardown. The OVB Blade
Blending Kit Includes a blending tool, polishing tool,
8mm fiberscope, 3mm fiberscope, OVK-1 video system
(monitor, measurement system, CCD color camera and
trackball), and heavy duty case. The 3mm fiberscope fits
in a channel on the blending and polishing tool to
provide a direct view of the blending process while the
8mm fiberscope (PWA 101045) allows inspectors to see the
back side of the blade. The OVK-1 video system gives the
operator measurement capabilities and complete
observation of the repair procedure.
Portable System Case Olympus’ portable
“Plug and Play” systems allow one inspector to easily
carry and operate a complete video inspection system
including a 6.4-inch LCD monitor. Pre-wired and ready to
use, it includes a videoscope, light source with a CCU
(IV-5A, IV-6 or IV-6A), DSM(Digital Store & Measure
System), and an LCD monitor. The case is designed for
AC/DC operation with an optional battery pack.
