D-450 Zoom
Your pictures don't wait for you, so why should your digital camera have to wait for them? It shouldn't, and with the new Olympus D-450 Zoom, you'll never need to wait again. That's because the D-450 Zoom can shoot non-stop, without pausing between shots, just like a traditional film camera—but without sacrificing the convenience and quality you've come to expect from Olympus' award-winning filmless digital cameras.

As easy to use as pointing and shooting, the D-450 Zoom doesn't just let you take pictures rapidly, it lets you take great pictures. With an optical 3X glass aspherical zoom lens, 2x digital telephoto, pop-up 5-mode variable flash, and a resolution of 1.3 million megapixels, it's packed with all the features you need to make sure you'll always get the shot you want. And with the D-450's new, brighter and easier to view LCD screen, you can see your pictures as soon as you take them—even in bright light or from an angle. The LCD also displays pictures in a 4, 9 or 16 image index or allows magnification up to 3x, for inspecting all the details.

That is, if you want to stop shooting long enough to look.

Features and Benefits
Shoot without waiting—just like a traditional film camera:

  • Real-time rapid shooting mode—just focus, compose, and shoot without waiting between shots at all resolutions
  • Burst mode shooting at all resolutions with speeds up to two pictures per second

All the convenience and quality of Olympus filmless digital photography:

  • New high-resolution Wide-View LCD displays images in brighter light and at greater angles than standard LCD displays, and uses less power—making it easier to view or review photos and camera functions
  • 1.3 million pixel CCD, including 1280 X 960 true image pixel resolution, accurate 24 bit color (16.7 million colors), and photo-realistic quality
  • Image playback modes include automatic advance playback, an index mode with 4, 9, or 16 images, and a 3x inspection mode—letting you see all the detail
  • Four photo recording modes let you choose the quality and size of your images—from SHQ 1280 X 960 uncompressed photos to 640 X 480 VGA images perfect for Internet use or to email to friends and colleagues

The compact D-450 Zoom is packed with features:

  • 3x Olympus f 2.8-4.4 optical zoom (equivalent to a 35-105mm zoom on a 35mm film camera) and 2x digital telephoto at all focal lengths—for up to 6x magnification
  • View subjects clearly with either real-image optical zoom viewfinder (with dioptric correction) or through the Wide-View LCD
  • Easy push button panorama mode lets you use the enclosed software to "stitch" together images for a broad scenic vista
  • Use the Macro mode for photographs as close as 8 inches
  • 5-mode variable pop-up flash with red-eye reduction, for natural-looking pictures in even the most challenging conditions
  • Advanced features include selectable center weighted or spot metering, Automatic Exposure with +/- 2-step exposure control in 1/2-step increments, equivalent ISO settings of Auto, 160, 320 and 640, White Balance (Full TTL Automatic, Preset Manual: Daylight, Cloudy, Tungsten and Fluorescent)

Download images and control camera functions easily from a computer:

  • 8MB Olympus SmartMedia™ removable memory card included, storing up to 122 images
  • Download images quickly through the included serial cable (RS-232), or use the optional FlashPath Floppy Disk adapter or PCMCIA card
  • Use optional 8, 16, and 32 MB 3.3 volt Olympus SmartMedia cards for exposure lock, panorama "stitching" function and fast write times

Flash System
The D-450 Zoom’s flash system features five versatile flash modes that make it easy for anyone to take great photographs:

  • Auto Flash fires automatically in low light or back-light, to help ensure the illumination is appropriate
  • Red-Eye Reduction Flash Mode emits a series of pre-flashes right before the shutter snaps, allowing the subject's eyes to adjust to the light level of the flash—reducing the red-eye effect
  • Slow Synchro Flash Mode for shots requiring long exposure
  • Fill-In Flash Mode softens the sharp contrasts, for a more natural look in photos when your subject is in both bright light and dark shadow
  • Flash Off Mode is available when flash photography is not permitted or to allow for up to ˝ second exposures, for shots like sunsets and night scenes
