D-360L
When we set out to improve on our wildly successful D-340R Filmless Digital Camera, we knew it would be tough. After all, the camera had won nearly every award in its class.

So instead of just making the camera better, we decided to completely redefine the entry-level class—with the all-new D-360L Filmless Digital Camera.

Like the autofocus D-340R, the D-360L has all the convenient consumer features you need in a filmless digital camera, including a compact, lightweight design, low price, all-glass aspherical lens system, and 2x digital telephoto mode. And that’s just the beginning.

The new autofocus D-360L isn’t just an improvement over its predecessor, its a whole new style of entry-level camera—because it has advanced features previously found in only the top-of-the line filmless digital cameras. Features like selectable ISO ratings, exposure compensation, selectable digital “ESP” matrix, spot metering, auto or preset manual white balance, two compression ratios in Standard Quality mode for more imaging options, and a six-mode automatic flash with a new slow syncro flash. The results are photo-quality images at a consumer-level price tag.

It’s hard to improve on success—but when you use the D-360L, you’ll be glad we did.

Features and Benefits

  • Super-high image quality, with 1.3 million pixels and Olympus’ world-famous all-glass aspherical lens and our precise autofocus system—for photo-quality images
  • Compact, attractive and lightweight design with easier-to-use functions and buttons (compared to previous models)
  • Advanced controls for great results—including precise exposure setting at +/- 2EV by 0.5EV step, Digital “ESP” matrix metering system, spot metering (user selectable), auto and manual ISO settings (125/250/500), and automatic and four pre-set white balance settings
  • Optical and electronic viewfinder for flexibility and ease of use
  • 1/8” Color Wide-View TFT LCD monitor with 61,000 pixels can display 4, 9, and 16 images for viewing at virtually any angle, even in direct sunlight—and features a quick-view feature for instant display
  • Continuous shooting mode captures up 10 images at two frames per second
  • Wide array of imaging compression for versatility and convenience—including DCF, DPOF support, and two compression ratios in SQ mode, in addition to SHQ, HQ, JPEG and uncompressed modes
  • Versatile six-mode flash, for virtually any condition
  • TV connection with easy-to-use NTSC video cable
  • Industry-standard 8MB 3.3V Olympus SmartMedia™ card with panorama feature included (compatible up to 64MB)
  • Easy image transferring with included serial cable—or use the optional (MA-2) PCMCIA card adapter, optional (MAFP-2N) Flashpath Floppy Disk Adapter, or optional or (MAUSB-1) USB card reader/writer for even faster downloads

Lens

  • Autofocus Olympus aspherical F2.8 coated all-glass lens with a 5-element 5.5mm (36mm equivalency in 35mm cameras)
  • 2x digital tele/wide mode adds the flexibility of close-up shooting (for 72mm equivalency)

Flash System
The D-360L features an improved six-mode autoflash system, so you’ll always get the lighting you need:

  • Flash automatically fires in low light
  • Fill-in flash can fire with every shot, erasing shadows and providing balanced illumination
  • Switch the flash off when shooting where flash photography is prohibited, or not needed
  • Red-eye reducing flash lamp helps you take professional-looking flash portraits while minimizing the "red-eye" effect
  • New slow syncro and slow syncro+ red-eye reducing modes

Software
The D-360L comes with CamediaMaster (for downloading images from the camera), and instruction manuals. All software supports both Windows and Macintosh computer systems.

Using the imaging software that comes standard with the D-360L, you can:

  • Create sweeping panoramas by "stitching together" individual photos
  • Crop, retouch and manipulate photos in your computer
