This is a brief note of welcome to you.

We are so happy that you have joined our crusade to fight women's cancer. Let me rephrase that - our crusade to eliminate women's cancer. We haven't yet actually seen a light at the end of the tunnel, but there is definitely a glow up there. And we know that some day, perhaps some day soon, we will see all of these beautiful women walk out from under the shadow of these terrible diseases.

As you may know, I became involved for very sad and personal reasons, the loss of our wonderful Cassie, my wife. In the last five years, we have watched the emergence of hope and the strong strides toward more powerful technologies to fight these cancers. And now you are coming aboard to participate in funding these discoveries and to share the joy of each new advancement.

Everyone has a personal stake in this battle, knows someone-- partner, mother, sister, friend, daughter-- who is at risk or is afflicted or sadly taken. Only now we have the ability to empower these brilliant doctors to provide your loved ones and your friends with a future free of these cancers. I ask you to commit your full energies-- your energies of hope and love-- to helping 1-800-FLOWERS, The Entertainment Industry Foundation/Permanent Charities and the National Women's Cancer Research Alliance in this effort.
