and how did I get such cool skills?
My initial training was in journalism, focusing heavily on news and opinion writing, copy-editing/proofreading, desktop publishing, and the joy of running a small business on a smaller budget. Moving on to public relations and marketing, I expanded my copy skills writing for divergent products, personalites, and brands; learning to creatively market a message across the different media spectra, with measurable results. On the Web relatively early in the game, I began to use my skills to bridge the communications gap between the off-line world and the interactive. I've since embraced the principles of usability through good copy, design, and architectureleading to the tangible benefits of customer-focused communications.
I've worked for clients like General Electric, Philips, 3M, 1800flowers.com, Olympus America, Modem Media and others, honing and polishing their Web sites and technical processes with terse, well-branded contentthe kind that relates to their diverse audiences without meandering. I've managed projects and worked both remotely and on-site as part of different marketing, communications and development teams. And I've learned what works online and what doesn'tmore importantly, I've learned why.
Unlike many writers, I'm really just a geek at heart (I'd probably be building Web sites if I wasn't writing them). I have a knack for picking-up new software, systems and projects quickly. And my writing will keep your message targeted and sharp. Contact me today to discuss your project, and I'll show you how.
